Anfield Sujir Kennedy & Durno LLP has lawyers qualified to practice in British Columbia and Ontario, and its lawyers are highly qualified, motivated and have extensive experience in securities and corporate law, and in dealing with regulatory authorities and stock exchanges throughout North America.  Our lawyers have acted as counsel for numerous public and private companies, underwriters, investment dealers and venture capitalists in a variety of corporate finance matters. 

Jay Sujir *

Jay is a partner of the Firm.  Jay was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1986 after receiving a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1985 and Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Philosophy) degree in 1981, both from the University of Victoria.

Michael P. Kennedy *

Michael is a partner of the Firm.  Mike was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1986. He received a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria in 1985, prior to which Michael completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta.

Jeff Durno *

Jeff is the managing partner of the Firm.  Jeff was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1994, and joined the Firm after leaving a large downtown Toronto law firm earlier that year.  Jeff was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993 and remains a member of Law Society of Upper Canada.  Jeff completed his undergraduate studies in economics at the University of Western Ontario and received a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1991.

Verlee Webb

Verlee was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1992 and received her Bachelor of Laws in 1991 from the University of Victoria.  Prior to commencing her employment at Anfield Sujir Kennedy & Durno in the summer of 1999, she acted as in-house counsel in the corporate finance department at a leading Vancouver-based investment banking firm.  She has also been an associate at two prominent Vancouver-based law firms.

Toby Lim

Toby was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1997 after receiving his Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School.  In 1992, he received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a specialization in Corporate Finance from the University of British Columbia.

John Rhee

John was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2005.  He received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria in 2004.  In 2000, John received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia.

Lyndsay Schooley

Lyndsay was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2007.  She received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 2006.  In 1995, Lyndsay received an Honours Bachelor of Arts  Degree from McMaster University in Hamilton.

Sam Cole

Sam was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2011. He received his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2010, where he also received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2007.

Norita Lal-Khara

Norita was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2012. Norita received her law degree in 2003 from Western State University College of Law in California. In 2000, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia. Norita is also called to the Washington State Bar since 2006.

S. David Anfield (Retired)

David is an original founder and is now a retired partner of the Firm.  He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1955 and specializes in the representation of publicly traded natural resource issuers. David received a Bachelor of Arts in 1953 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1954, both from the University of British Columbia.

David is a former Chairman of the Security Liaison Committee, and of the Natural Resources Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association.  David has also lectured for the Continuing Legal Education Society on various securities related matters, and has authored a number of publications relating to mining law in the Province of British Columbia
